FAQ'S

What is Freshers Week?

Freshers is an introductory series of events taking place on campus and around Kingston for all students joining in September.

When is Freshers Week?

Freshers’ week will run from the 16 September to 21 September. You can view all our events on our website and Facebook event.

Can I buy a wristband if I’m under 18?

Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions in place at some venues, certain events in our line-up have been labelled as 18+. However, you can buy single tickets to non-drinking events.

I missed Freshers’ Fair, will I still be able to join a sports club or society?

Yes! You can join a sports club or society all year round. Simply purchase your membership online or from our helpdesk on campus. Visit the sports club or societies website pages to get a full list of the activities that you can get involved in.

What’s the difference between Freshers and Welcome Week?

Freshers is the Students’ Union’s contribution to Welcome Week at Kingston University.

Where can I collect my wristband from?

You can collect your wristbands from our Students’ Union Reception on Penrhyn Road from Monday 9th September.

How can I get home after events?

Kingston has excellent public transport links which makes getting home simple.

Why do I have to pay for a wristband?

As we're a non-profit charity organisation, all income made from Freshers goes straight back into improving your experience as a student.

Do I need to bring ID?

Yes.

How can I tell if it’s an official Freshers event?

If it isn't listed on our website, then it isn’t official and we can't guarantee that the event is legitimate or not. If you have any concerns that you've purchased tickets to a fake Freshers’ event then get in touch with us.
